Upgrading or Downgrading Your Hosting Plan

As your website needs change, dotCanada.com makes it easy to adjust your hosting plan. Whether you need more resources or want to scale back, here's how to upgrade or downgrade your hosting plan:

Upgrading Your Hosting Plan

  1. Log in to the WHMCS Client Area at https://clients.dotcanada.com/login
  2. Go to Services > My Services
  3. Find the hosting service you want to upgrade and click on it
  4. Click on the Upgrade/Downgrade button
  5. Select your desired new package from the dropdown menu
  6. Choose your billing cycle (monthly, quarterly, semi-annually, annually)
  7. Review the price difference and effective date information
  8. Click Continue to proceed
  9. Review your order summary
  10. Choose your payment method and click Complete Order

Downgrading Your Hosting Plan

The process for downgrading is similar to upgrading:

  1. Log in to the WHMCS Client Area at https://clients.dotcanada.com/login
  2. Go to Services > My Services
  3. Find the hosting service you want to downgrade and click on it
  4. Click on the Upgrade/Downgrade button
  5. Select a lower-tier package from the dropdown menu
  6. Choose your billing cycle
  7. Review the price adjustment (credit will typically be applied to future invoices)
  8. Click Continue to proceed
  9. Review your order summary
  10. Confirm your downgrade by clicking Complete Order
Important Considerations:
  • Resource Usage: Before downgrading, check your current resource usage to ensure the new plan will be sufficient
  • Billing Cycle: Plan changes typically take effect at the next billing cycle unless specified otherwise
  • Data Limits: Downgrading may reduce your storage space, bandwidth, and other resources
  • Feature Changes: Some features may not be available in lower-tier plans
