Changing Your Contact Email Address
Keeping your contact email address up to date is essential for receiving important notifications about your dotCanada.com hosting account, including billing notices, security alerts, and service updates. Here's how to update your email address in different sections of your account:
Updating Your Primary Contact Email in WHMCS
- Log in to the WHMCS Client Area at https://clients.dotcanada.com/login
- Click on your name in the top-right corner and select Account
- Click the Edit button in the Personal Information section
- Update your email address in the Email Address field
- Verify other contact information while you're there
- Click Save Changes at the bottom of the page
- You may receive a verification email at your new address - follow the instructions to confirm the change
Changing Email Notification Preferences
You can also specify which notifications you receive and to which email addresses:
- Log in to the WHMCS Client Area
- Click on your name in the top-right corner and select Account
- Click on Email Preferences in the sidebar
- Here you can:
- Choose which types of emails you receive
- Opt-in or out of marketing communications
- Set additional email addresses for specific notifications
- Click Save Changes when finished
Updating Your cPanel Email Address
This affects notifications sent directly from the server:
- Log in to your cPanel account at https://{hostname}.mysecureservers.com:2087
- In the search box at the top, type "Contact Information" or locate the PREFERENCES section
- Click on Contact Information
- Update your email address in the form
- Click Save
Updating Billing Contact Email
If you have separate billing contacts:
- Log in to the WHMCS Client Area
- Go to Billing > Payment Methods
- Click on the payment method you want to update
- Update the email address associated with your billing contact
- Click Save Changes
Updating Email Address for Domain Registration
If you need to update the email address associated with your domain registration:
- Log in to the WHMCS Client Area
- Go to Domains > My Domains
- Click on the domain name you want to update
- Click Registrant/WHOIS Info
- Update the email address
- Click Save Changes
